This is not a no-sound bug for me, it is an alsa-utils bug. Since a
player is set to use the alsa device directly sound is working fine;
VLC, mplayer, JACK audio server or the flashplugin all have sound but
there is the shortcoming of only one of them using the alsa device, so
no sound from flashplugin if VLC is open. What is not working for me are
the alsa-utils described above, pulseaudio which can take care of the
software mixing and xine engine (and amarok). Probably the last two also
use some pf the alsa-utils.
