When you copy the files to the hard disk, do you get any crash dialogs
at all, or does the copy dialog simply disappear? We need the crash
report to come from the file manager itself to be able to obtain the
proper information.

Does the file eventually copy fine? If not, it is very possible that
that portion of your USB drive is corrupted. If you think this may be
the case, try copying it onto another computer to see if the problem
occurs.

Also, if the files are not private, could you provide the names of them
and their file sizes?
