Motin: which driver (i810 or intel) and which intel chip are you using? I have not been successful enabling the colour on TV on my Lenovo Z60m (chip 915GM) on ubuntu hardy (testing version) with neither driver.
i810 (xorg.conf with separate device sections for LCD and TV) - xrandr --verbose does not display any options re. TV standard and Option "TVStandard" and "TVOutFormat" are ignored (according to Xorg.log). intel (xorg.conf with one device section) -- xrandr supports some TV standards, including PAL, however, switching to them still outputs b&w image on TV. This is also described in the "man intel".
