confirming, I just rebooted to gutsy, (with hardy kernel 2.6.24-7) dumped my media library in ryhthmbox to confirm using the same procedure.
with CPU pegged at 100% the system is smooth and responsive, video and audio play smooth without hitching... typing the text into this box is normal.
