Don't tell them to pull their fingers out... sheesh, that makes them
want to write code for you for free, huh?

At any rate, I am having this same issue.  No PPTP VPN support even
after I install network-manager-pptp.  I get the error "No configuration
interface".  I am in the process of trying nem75's fix, but that is
sloppy - this should be something that is integrated into ubuntu (or
kubuntu) - I should be able to connect to any VPN out-of-the-box.

Also, the KNetworkManager link does nothing from the menu as everyone is
stating.  Very frustrating - possibly related to the "administrator
mode" not working when in "System Settings"?
