I've noticed that it isn't actually "Blur Windows" that causes the ghost window, but if I disable and enable a small number of the tick boxes in Compiz Config the ghost window will disappear. However, as you have suggested, I will try out Hardy Heron and look for this error happening there too, if the problem exists there.
