Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
Using Hardy. Since yesterday (17/02/2008), nautilus fails to handle the directory /home/<user>/Desktop and any extended functionality correctly. On login, i have /home/matthew open repeatedly in nautilus windows, opening and closing, all the while consuming virtually 100% CPU. Subsequently Gnome's Desktop functionality does not seem to work at all. While the wallpaper is displayed, i have no mounted drives displayed on the Desktop, no shortcuts on the Desktop, and right-clicks on the Desktop does not produce a contextual menu. While i can browse to any directory other than Desktop in nautilus without problems, navigating to Desktop produces a silent crash. When i run "nautilus /home/matthew/Desktop" in the terminal, i get an error message, nautilus crashes, and then i once again see the repeated loading and closing(crashing?) of /home/matthew nautilus windows. I will attach the error message as a text file below. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- nautilus crashes with anything to do with /home/user/Desktop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192764 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
