Hmm, when I was looking at the changelog for 2.6.25-rc1, I noticed the following two changelogs and bug reports that may address this issue:
ACPI: video: Rationalise ACPI backlight implementation http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9277 It also addresses this second issue of having two video objects (though it doesn't break anything for me): ACPI: video: Ignore devices that aren't present in hardware http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9614 I would like to see this change incorporated into the Hardy kernel -- and backported to Gutsy, if at all possible. -- LCD backlight turns off when between discrete levels, both from hotkeys and from dim-on-idle. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121833 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
