Public bug reported: Using hardy with all the latest packages. Graphics hardware is an nVidia GeForce Go 7600.
The nvidia-glx-new package (and presumably the other nvidia-glx packages) installs a file at /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libglx.so. In older versions of the package, this was a link to /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libglx.so.xxx.xx, where xxx.xx was the nVidia driver version number. However, with the current nvidia-glx-new, the second file is now located at /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so.xxx.xx but /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libglx.so still points to the old location. This causes a broken link and as a result, anyone using the nvidia Xorg driver ends up having glx broken/disabled. The link included with the package should be updated to fix this. ** Affects: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- libglx.so link in current nVidia drivers is broken https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192360 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
