I did some more research on this issue. Here are more facts about my experiences.
If I have just ubuntu-desktop installed, and I load kde4-core later, while I am logged into KDE4 the menu icons are blank or are question marks. If I later on load kubuntu-desktop, the icons in KDE4 will come back to normal. (Why on earth would I have to have kubuntu-desktop installed anyway? I should be able to have KDE4 by itself). If I have both ubuntu-desktop and kubuntu-desktop, and I manually update the menu in KDE4, it makes most of KDE3's menu icons blank. If I go in a correct KDE3's menu icons, when I return to KDE4 they return to their blank status. Even worse, if I rightclick the kmenu icon on the taskbar in KDE3 and select "Menu Editor" it loads up KDE4's version of kmenuedit, not KDE3's version! (The preferred behavior is that it should launch KDE3's version when in KDE3 and KDE4's version when in KDE4). PS.) If anyone knows of a way I can make KDE3 and KDE4 totally separate so they don't touch eachothers settings, I would be extremely grateful. Having both KDE3 and KDE4 installed on the same Ubuntu installation is extremely problematic, and without having KDE3 I get blank menu icons in KDE4. -- Most Icons Missing In KDE4 Kickoff Menu After Menu Update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/188803 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
