Timo: Thanks for your response. This is a work computer so I don't think installing Alpha-quality Hardy is a reasonable solution. I will try to attach Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf ASAP. At the moment, I'm rebooted back in Windows unfortunately. :( I also don't think this bug is a duplicate of #149764. I don't have a dual-head or dual-screen or TV-out setup. My problem is also not some 1-second delay in menus. The entire desktop is so slow that the system is unusable. And windows are completely blank also, adding to the problem. It's not an annoyance. I must disable 3D effects or disable the binary drivers to use Ubuntu. -- nvidia-glx-new & 3D desktop effects slow system to a crawl / cause blank windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/191048 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
