today i found what cause the crash. each day a 6.25 logrotate runs the daily jobs. at 7h37, the postscript of the logrotate script for cups is run, and that's when cups die.
launched manually, the "invoke-rc.d --quiet cupsys force-reload > /dev/null" makes cups segfault. a "invoke-rc.d --quiet cupsys restart > /dev/null" does fine. so the force-reload seems to crash cups in our configuration. -- cups dying when idle https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/189510 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
