I cannot seem to open the KDE4 version of Kate as root (the KDE3 version works fine). Before KDE 4.0.1 was released, running 'sudo kate-kde4', 'kdesu kate-kde4', and 'kdesudo kate-kde4' would prompt me for a password, and then do nothing (Kate wouldn't open). Now, running 'kate' as a normal user opens Kate-kde4, but running it as root opens the KDE3 version. Neither '/usr/bin/kate-kde4' nor '/usr/lib/kde4/bin/kate-kde4' are existent now, so I'm assuming this bug is being worked on, but just in case, am reporting it here.
