I had the same problem. This time with 2.0.0.12. I also had a similar message while administrating my WordPress blog, though I didn't attribute that to Mozilla (I should, it was talking about a chrome:// URL then, too, but then I was preoccupied with WordPress administration). On my first attempt to write this reply, I did Help - About, just to find that Firefox would hang. It would not even respond to a click on the close box anymore, I had to use kill commands. After restarting, the problems disappeared all right.
I still think an update should not put Firefox into an unstable situation like that. The update says "to complete the update, restart Firefox"; it does not say "you must restart Firefox now or face random crashes". Further, since this seems to affect unrelated parts of the Chrome framework, I fear that a future update could affect a large number of users, in some very unpleasant way (how about 1% of installed user base being unable to close FF, possibly because some mildly popular add-on is damaged). I suggest reopening the bug. -- 1.5.0.4 update kills bookmarks https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/49219 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
