Hey all

I had the same problem as you have and i found out that the problem lies in the 
alsamixer.
Go to your terminal type in "alsamixer" without the quotes.
There set Surround on Independ...and play a little bit with the rest of the 
switches...it should work.
It worked for me. Hope i helped you out a bit.
