i have experienced this bug on both x86 and x86_64 8.04 hardy versions on random events while running a number of programs. even though 32bit version seems to be more unstable about it. resuming from screensaver (password protect on) does not seem to be exclusively affected in my case. i have refrained from submitting duplicate bugs reports on this issue, but i will try to provide further information as it occurs next time.
