Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntustudio-icon-theme

When the new version in (Ubuntu Hardy as of mid Jan)of the
Ubuntustudio icons(with the pretty sheet music/mimetype icon for mp3s
and wav's) is installed, importing files into audacity, audacious, or
any other media app supporting the ubuntustudio theme is severely bogged
down. This is odd, considering that older(pre-dapper drake) versions of
GNOME also separated audio files by mimetype and did not have this
problem.

It can take over a minute to open the directory in the App's window if
the directory has a large volume of files, but Nautilus is
unaffected(showing the icons), as is XMMS, which does not support the
theme and displays a Tango icon for audio files instead.

When I upgraded the system, this bog down forced me to drag and drop
files from nautilus-until I installed XMMS for wav support that works
and fouund that it was unaffected. As it did not support the theme, I
created custom themes, pulling out one element at a time of Ubuntustudio
until I found the problem-it was those beautiful icons bogging it down.

Rolling back to the Gutsy/Hardy A1 icons solved the problem, but I'd
like to see a version of these new icons that works!
