Public bug reported: Binary package hint: adept
Having the package "apt-listchanges" installed causes, by default, apt- get and other APT front-ends (including Adept) to ask for confirmation before applying the updates, after the changelog has been shown to the user. In Adept's updater, however, this question is presented just like it is in apt-get: by means of a "[Y/n]" question in the console. The console, in Adept, isn't visible unless one clicks on "Show details", so the user's perception is that Adept has locked up. A work-around might be to watch the console for the text "[Y/n]?" (or "[y/N]?", and all localized versions of it...) and present a dialog box when a line in the output matches it. ** Affects: adept (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- apt-listchanges stalls Adept silently https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/188055 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
