Yes, i'm using it right now. When i was on kde 4 on hoary i didn't hear anything form kde4. but if i install amarok (for kde 3.5.8) the sound started.
This problem was NOT present in the kubuntu 7.10 with kde4 cd. After that installation i upgraded to hardy and the sound got away.
