That is an excellent idea Tormod, It is one of the less attractive
screen savers anyway, no one will miss it.

I use an nVidia geforce go 7600 and my computer turns into a freak show
when I use desktop effects for a while. Some problems I could not
correct:

- The screen flickers black from time to time, It doesn't do it all the
time but some times, I notice that it doesn't happen when desktop
effects are off. I also tried changing the refresh rate and do other
things but it didn't fix the problem.

- Some times when I maximize Firefox it is black on the way there. That
is not a biog problem, but it looks ugly.

- I have an Intel centrino Wireless ipw3945 and every time the screen
goes off by itself the wireless stops working, I don't think this has
anything to do with the graphic card but I thought I would mention it as
well just in case.

- After prolonged use and for no apparent reason when I open videos I
see pink and bluish scribbles but no image, this doesn't happen all the
time either. (When desktop effects are on after a while)

-- Also, and this couldn't be considered a problem but a nuisance, I
have to load the desktop-settings every time after the screensaver goes
off because it overrides my color corrections.

I can't give specific steps to reproduce these problems because I am not
sure what creates them.

If you have my same card (and a laptop, I have HP pavillion series
dv8000) you can turn your effects to the maximum and wait for the show
to start and if it doesn't happen, maybe its me -- although this didn't
happen with Windows XP.

I checked the Linux driver for my card and the last update is from early
2006, that seems like a long time to me without updating a driver.

Hope since Timo reported this, they will read what I am saying now and
reproduce it as well.

Thank you all for your interest in this issue!
