Public bug reported:

On Noble (libxkbcommon 1.6.0-1build1), gnome-shell crashes at session start
in a loop (GDM: "Session never registered"), several login attempts needed.

Cause: rxkb_context_parse() installs a global libxml2 error handler
(xmlSetGenericErrorFunc) that references the rxkb_context, and never restores
the default one. After rxkb_context_unref(), the handler dangles. When
libgweather later parses malformed XML from the weather service, libxml2
calls the stale handler → crash in libxkbregistry.so + 0x256f.

Upstream issue: https://github.com/xkbcommon/libxkbcommon/issues/529

Backtrace (top):
#0 libxkbregistry.so.0 + 0x256f
#1 libxkbregistry.so.0 + 0x29aa
#3 __xmlRaiseError (libxml2.so.2)
#10 xmlParseMemory (libxml2.so.2)
#11 libgweather-4.so.0 + 0x20185
... libsoup-3.0 / gio / meta_context_run_main_loop

Workaround: disable shell weather
(org.gnome.shell.weather locations "[]", automatic-location false).

Request: SRU of the upstream fix to Noble.
Environment: Zorin OS (Ubuntu 24.04 base), Wayland, AMD Barcelo.
Full backtrace and package versions attached.
