Tested the PPA build 10.0.0-2ubuntu8.20~ppa1793131786+8cd69215ac on noble with Ubuntu's own ceph packages.
Setup: noble KVM host, Ceph 19.2.7 cluster (cephadm), RBD pool with a cephx secret. 1. Baseline: libvirt 10.0.0-2ubuntu8.19 + ceph 19.2.6-0ubuntu0.24.04.1 from noble-proposed: pool-start fails with "failed to set RADOS option: auth_supported" (see LP: #2161000). 2. PPA libvirt + ceph 19.2.3-0ubuntu0.24.04.3 (noble-updates): pool-start, vol-create-as, vol-list, vol-delete all work. 3. PPA libvirt + ceph 19.2.6-0ubuntu0.24.04.1 (noble-proposed): pool-start, vol-create-as, vol-list, vol-delete all work. From an operator's perspective, it would be really important that the fixed libvirt reaches noble-updates/-security before (or at the same time as) ceph 19.2.6. Since ceph 19.2.6 is a security update, it will be installed automatically by unattended-upgrades on many hosts, and the breakage only shows at the next libvirtd/host restart. A Breaks: on the ceph side as Christian suggested would be a great safeguard. Thanks Hector and Christian! Happy to verify again once it is in noble-proposed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2172324 Title: libvirt RBD storage pool fails to start against Ceph 20.2.4: "failed to set RADOS option: auth_supported" (also affects 19.2.6 and maybe other micro releases) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/2172324/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
