Confirming that this issue is resolved on Ubuntu 26.10 after upgrading
to linux-image-7.3.0-10-generic (7.3.0-10.10).
Both the built-in I2C keyboard (3-003a) and early-boot LUKS unlock work
normally again.
Looking at the 7.3.0-10.10 changelog (rebase to v7.3 final), the fix appears to
be the upstream i2c-qcom-geni commits included in this release (handling the
bc0000.geniqup/b80000.i2c controller for 3-003a):
- "i2c: qcom-geni: Restore the source-clock selection policy"
- "i2c: qcom-geni: release runtime PM reference when set_rate fails"
@stevefrom3115: Since you already opened bug #2172543 to track the 26.04
(7.0.0-42-generic) backport regression, I am marking this 26.10 report
as Fix Released. Backporting the above i2c-qcom-geni fix to the 26.04
7.0 kernel should resolve #2172543 as well.
