I can reproduce the same HDMI audio stuttering issue on a MacBook Pro (Mid 2014) running Ubuntu 26.04.1.
- Intel HDMI audio controller: 8086:0a0c - Kernels tested: 7.0.0-34-generic and 7.0.0-38-generic - Both kernels exhibit the same HDMI audio stuttering. - The internal speakers work normally. - The TV is correctly detected, with valid ELD information. - PipeWire repeatedly logs: `spa.alsa: hdmi:1p: snd_pcm_avail after recover: Broken pipe` - `pw-top` ERR increases during HDMI playback. - Tested `snoop=0` and `position_fix=0`, `1`, `2`, and `6`; the issue persists. This appears consistent with the reported unstable DMA position handling in the Intel Haswell HDMI audio driver. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2171553 Title: HDMI audio stutters continuously (XRUN loop) due to unstable DMA position reads in snd_hda_intel — ThinkPad X240 / Haswell / kernel 7.0.0-38 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/2171553/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
