Public bug reported:

The Eye of Mate plugins are not compatible with version 26.04 or later.
Here is how to reproduce the bug:
install Mate Desktop on Ubuntu 26.04 or later, or install Ubuntu Mate 26.10 or
later
launch Eye of Mate
Go to Preferences > Plugins
Enable one of the plugins (I like "Fullscreen with a double-click", it is very
handy)
Quit Eye of Mate
Now try launching it again. It won't launch. It will crash. Every. Single. Time.

Output from a terminal:

(eom:314379): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 04:48:04.868: cannot register
existing type 'EomWindow'

(eom:314379): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 04:48:04.868: cannot add private
