I have the same problem this bug report describes.

When I try starting nautilus, it displays then seems to crash, then
reappears, then recrash, and so until I guess the maximum try count is
reached.

When starting in the command line, here's what I see :
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ nautilus

** (nautilus:7605): WARNING **: Unable to add monitor: Not supported
Erreur de segmentation (core dumped)

I'm attaching a valgrind output as described on this page: 
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind.
Note that I've got the impression that valgrind stopped tracking output after 
first automatic crash/restart of nautilus.

Let me know if you need additional information.
