I'm not entirely sure that those two commits address both issues
reported in the upstream bug for ppc64el.

When I investigated this previously, I noticed that the two commits did
not include the suggested changes from comments 10 and 11 for the "trace
cpu read" test. Additionally, the "trace cpu_read_buf_percent" test
fails during the regular test run but passes under the following
Valgrind run.

After applying the changes suggested in comments 10 and 11, "trace cpu
read" passes for both the regular and Valgrind runs. However, "trace
cpu_read_buf_percent" still fails during the regular run and only passes
under Valgrind.

It's possible that this behavior is specific to my test environment.
When you ran the libtracefs autopkgtests on ppc64el, did both of these
test cases pass?
