Hi Charles, thanks for sponsoring this SRU! And sorry for the issues with the original debdiffs. I've fixed the version numbers and bug references in the updated debdiffs. Could you please review them again?
Regarding testing on a non-Genio platform, it's difficult to find a generic x86 system with a V4L2 M2M JPEG codec. The Raspberry Pi has the `bcm2835-codec` driver, but its driver corrects obviously incorrect buffer sizes reported by GStreamer, so the original bug doesn't cause encoding failures on that platform. However, this fix changes the buffer size used for image encoding, so regression testing on the Raspberry Pi would still be worthwhile. I could extend the test plan to include encoding test images with color bars and noise at 640×480, 1280×720, and 1920×1080 resolutions (the `bcm2835-codec` supports up to 1920×1920). Would this be acceptable? ** Patch removed: "gst-plugins-good1.0_1.24.2-1ubuntu1.6_1.24.2-1ubuntu1.7.debdiff" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gst-plugins-good1.0/+bug/2170768/+attachment/6008896/+files/gst-plugins-good1.0_1.24.2-1ubuntu1.6_1.24.2-1ubuntu1.7.debdiff ** Patch removed: "gst-plugins-good1.0_1.28.2-2ubuntu0.2_1.28.2-2ubuntu0.3.debdiff" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gst-plugins-good1.0/+bug/2170768/+attachment/6008897/+files/gst-plugins-good1.0_1.28.2-2ubuntu0.2_1.28.2-2ubuntu0.3.debdiff ** Patch removed: "gst-plugins-good1.0_1.28.7-1build1_1.28.7-1ubuntu0.1.debdiff" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gst-plugins-good1.0/+bug/2170768/+attachment/6008898/+files/gst-plugins-good1.0_1.28.7-1build1_1.28.7-1ubuntu0.1.debdiff ** Patch removed: "gst-plugins-good1.0_1.24.2-1ubuntu1.8_1.24.2-1ubuntu1.9.debdiff" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gst-plugins-good1.0/+bug/2170768/+attachment/6009578/+files/gst-plugins-good1.0_1.24.2-1ubuntu1.8_1.24.2-1ubuntu1.9.debdiff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2170768 Title: [SRU] gst-plugins-good1.0: integer overflow in V4L2 buffer sizing breaks 4K JPEG encoding To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gst-plugins-good1.0/+bug/2170768/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
