Public bug reported:

python3-sigima 1.1.1-1 in stonking is empty: the deb only contains
/usr/share/doc (2.5 kB), no Python module. This breaks datalab 1.1.0-5
(new package, stuck in stonking-proposed), whose tests fail with:

  datalab/tests/__init__.py:33: in <module>
      from sigima.tests import helpers
E ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'sigima'

https://launchpadlibrarian.net/880899862/buildlog_ubuntu-stonking-
amd64.datalab_1.1.0-5_BUILDING.txt.gz

Cause: debian/rules has

  export PYBUILD_DISABLE=python3.14

Python 3.14 is the only supported Python version, so pybuild builds and
installs nothing, and the build still "succeeds" (dpkg-gencontrol even warns
that ${python3:Depends} isn't defined):
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-sigima/1.1.1-1/+build/32900991

Debian's 1.1.1-1 binary has the module only because it was built in
March 2026, when Python 3.13 was still supported there; a rebuild in
Debian today would produce the same empty package.

Fix (1.1.1-1ubuntu1, test-built in a stonking chroot):
- drop PYBUILD_DISABLE=python3.14
- build-depend on python3-pyqt5.qtsvg <!nocheck>, needed by
test_matplotlib_backend_has_all_plotpy_functions (the only failing test without
it)

Result: 682 tests passed, 24 skipped; python3-sigima contains the sigima
module (312 files) with proper dependencies, and "from sigima.tests
import helpers" works. After it migrates, datalab needs a build retry.

         Status: New
