Public bug reported:
Please remove pveclib 1.0.4+dfsg-3build1 from stonking-proposed.
It is a no-change rebuild (from the resolute mass rebuild). It has been
blocked for 317 days by "missing build on ppc64el". ppc64el is the
package's only architecture (Architecture: ppc64el). 1.0.4+dfsg-3 in
stonking release is unaffected and can stay.
The rebuild fails with GCC 15:
./pveclib/vec_int128_ppc.h:5817:10: error: incompatible types when
assigning to type 'vui128_t' {aka '__vector(1) __int128 unsigned'} from
type 'vb128_t' {aka '__vector(1) __int128'}
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pveclib/1.0.4+dfsg-3build1
Fixing that (explicit casts) is not enough. The build then hits what
looks like a GCC bug that only shows up with IEEE128 long double, which
is the Ubuntu ppc64el default:
scalar_test_data_class()/scalar_test_neg() reject arguments whose type
is a typedef of __float128/__ieee128. The package is unchanged in Debian
since 2020 (same version, binaries from 2020), so this is not worth an
Ubuntu delta for a no-change rebuild. We will look at the build again if
Debian uploads a new version.
There are no reverse dependencies:
$ reverse-depends -r stonking -a ppc64el src:pveclib
No reverse dependencies found
$ reverse-depends -r stonking -a ppc64el -b src:pveclib
No reverse dependencies found
Suggested removal comment:
FTBFS on ppc64el (its only architecture) with GCC 15; no-change rebuild,
1.0.4+dfsg-3 in release is unaffected; no reverse dependencies
