Public bug reported: hexcurse 1.60.0-2 has been stuck in stonking-proposed for 99 days because it fails to build on every architecture:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hexcurse/1.60.0-2/+build/33365138 getopt.c:361:18: error: initialization discards 'const' qualifier from pointer target type [-Werror=discarded-qualifiers] 361 | char *temp = my_index (optstring, c); glibc 2.43 implements the ISO C23 versions of strchr() and similar functions, which return a const pointer when given a const argument. Upstream builds with -Werror. Debian has the same issue, #1128548 (serious, no patch yet), and the package was removed from testing. Fix: declare the local as const char * (it is only read). A debdiff is attached (1.60.0-2ubuntu1), and the patch is being sent to the Debian bug. ** Affects: hexcurse (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: ftbfs stonking update-excuse ** Tags added: ftbfs stonking update-excuse -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2170758 Title: hexcurse 1.60.0-2 FTBFS with glibc 2.43 (discarded const qualifier in getopt.c) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hexcurse/+bug/2170758/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
