Public bug reported: the __builtin_amdgcn_is_invocable shim was created with a recent patch [1] with the stated purpose of allowing system clang to compile.
[1] https://salsa.debian.org/rocm-team/rocm- hipamd/-/commit/4dc1c3f564dcb5dce54e307c5b724c570c415cc5 When using a build with this patch, problems show up in some rocm components, rocfft is an example. When running /usr/libexec/rocm/librocfft0-tests/rocfft-test from librocfft0-tests, the following error appears: terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error' what(): In file included from <built-in>:1: /tmp/comgr-1484945-0-7eb79f/include/hiprtc_runtime.h:6171:10: fatal error: 'amd_is_invocable_shim.h' file not found 6171 | #include "amd_is_invocable_shim.h" | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1 error generated when compiling for gfx1201. Aborted /usr/libexec/rocm/librocfft0-tests/rocfft- test --smoketest the referenced amd_is_invocable_shim.h is not available when comgr compiles at runtime and rocfft-test exits abnormally. The error appears on at least rocfft and hipfft across multiple ISAs. ** Affects: rocm-hipamd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2170723 Title: creation of __builtin_amdgcn_is_invocable macro breaks many rocm components To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rocm-hipamd/+bug/2170723/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
