Additional supporting evidence: this is the kdump-captured dmesg from the crash immediately following the session attached above. It contains the NULL pointer dereference in iov_iter_advance, the CIFS/netfs call trace, Oops, and fatal kernel panic. I also have the corresponding full crash dump preserved if it would be useful for further analysis.
