I've restored linux-firmware to 20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu2.29_amd64 (with all split packages). The Chromium text rendering artifacts persist. This confirms the issue is not in linux-firmware. Based on further testing, the problem is specific to Chromium-based browsers — Firefox with WebRender GPU compositing renders correctly.
