Hello! I see how this could be packaged, and how it's already being offered as part of specific Ubuntu images, which speaks in favor of having the package in the archive.
There are some considerations though: 1. There is no mention to licensing in the bug. Which license is this under? The source cited as the source for packaging has GPL-3 in d/copyright, but it would be nice to have a paragraph on how this is going to be handled. 2. > The upstream for this package is the `files` folder in the same repository as > the `debian` folder, which makes this a native Ubuntu package. Well this can be a Ubuntu native package, but the folder structure is not what defines it. The questions would be: does this software make sense outside of a Ubuntu specific world? Using this software outside of Ubuntu is possible and/or desirable? 3. Speaking about Debian, is there a reason for this package not to be in Debian? The official documentation (https://ubuntu.com/project/docs/how-ubuntu-is-made/processes/new- packages/) states that packaging through Debian is preferred, unless there are specific reasons not to. I'd ask please: combine the two questions above and add this information to the bug (as possible, of course). The answer should cover: - Would it make sense to use outside of Ubuntu? Do we want it to be Ubuntu specific for any reason? Consider creating an upstream project (even if it's small, as it seems to be) and packaging from there. - If not, not even Debian? Consider packaging it in Debian. - If not, then it can be a Ubuntu native package, and the source code can be maintained from the git-ubuntu branch, for instance. 4. As this wasn't uploaded before the Stonking Feature Freeze (https://documentation.ubuntu.com/release-notes/26.10/schedule/), it will most probably not land in Stonking, but in the upcoming (tt) release.
