We meanwhile noticed that there was an issue with build.info
and a missing file, when applying one patch
and if this is fixed, more commits needed.
So one has to go down a little rabbit hole,
since more and more (partially significant) commits are needed as patches (and 
some of them do not apply cleanly on 4.0.1).

Our gut feeling right now that it is better to wait for 4.1, since the
patches introduce a certain risk in such an important component like
openssl.
