Hi Matthew. Yes, the performance benefits of the cache are real to us. Our users almost never change groups so what was "fixed" does nothing for us.
I know you are probably very busy but I think if someone from Ubuntu spoke to upstream it would carry more weight than if I reported it - I'm just a sysadmin trying to figure out why newer OSes/kernels aren't performing as well as they used to.
