Public bug reported:
Refresh the CXL reset support series from the older v1 CXL save/restore
+ v5 CXL reset stack to the combined v9 "CXL Reset for Type-2 devices"
series, where the CXL reset API changes. Rebases the VFIO CXL Type-2
passthrough v2 series on top of it, and applies the 6-patch VFIO CXL
reset series (rewired to the v9 reset API). The whole stack is rebased
onto the current NVIDIA/NV-Kernels 26.04_linux-nvidia-bos tip. Because
the previous CXL/VFIO commits were already pushed, history is not
rewritten within the series: the stale work is removed with git revert,
and the replacement series is applied fresh on top.
Motivation:
- v9 supersedes v1/v5. Srirangan's v9 is a single, self-contained series
that replaces the split v1 (save/restore) + v5 (cxl-reset) work and is
aligned to the upstream direction (reset_method-based ABI, HDM decoder
caching, BAR-relative HDM restore).
- VFIO CXL must ride on v9. Manish's VFIO CXL Type-2 series depends on
CXL core helpers whose API changed under v9; it is re-based and adapted
to the v9 conventions rather than the reverted v1/v5 layout.
- Function-scoped VFIO reset on v9. Manish's internal 6-patch reset
series provides the guest-facing vfio_cxl_reset() path (DPA reset
handling, post-reset BAR access, HDM shadow preservation, DVSEC STATUS2
virtualization), rewired from the removed v5 cxl_dev_reset/cxl_do_reset
API to v9's cxl_reset_function cxl_reset_execute.
- Upstream-faithful header layout. Public CXL surface is consolidated in
include/cxl/cxl.h (Alejandro's convention, which Srirangan's v9 explicitly
follows: "move shared decoder settings to include/cxl/cxl.h"), rather than
the include/cxl/pci.h placement used by the earlier port.
