My Original comment is #13 above. Since that comment I followed the advice of the comment #11 above which said "I also observed that removing `quiet splash` and adding `debug ignore_loglevel` to the kernel command line..." So I did a sudo xed /etc/default/grub Found the GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT= line and removed the 'quiet splash' and added the 'debug ignore_loglevel` Then I did a sudo update-grub and rebooted. I am still running kernel 7.0.0-28 and I have let the computer go through heavy usage, several sleep cycles, let run over night, etc. and so far it has rebooted successfully several times. So, for me, this seems to have done the trick. If it fails again in the future I will repost a comment to let you know.
