@Aaron: I agree with Timo that what you note with the 535 driver is a
different bug and is not relevant here. (Yes, I also repackaged the
Nvidia 535 driver in the same PPA for a few folks experiencing bugs with
580, but that is an Nvidia problem, and not an Ubuntu/distro one.)
This bug seems to be spiraling out of control.
What I really want here is someone to take the simple steps outlined in
comment #41
Oh, and if someone could acknowledge that a legacy Nvidia driver should
never be transitioned to a newer branch because that is total nonsense,
and it won't happen again with 580, that would be great too. Can I get
an 'Amen'?
