Public bug reported:
The apparmor configuration blocks Ghostscript from accessing files with
arbitrary extensions outside of the well-known directories like /tmp and
$HOME.
Excepted extensions are listed in /etc/apparmor/tunables/gs . This list
does not contain the .otf extension for OpenType fonts.
However, fonts of that type tend to be part of TeXlive, and self-
distributed TeXlive by default is installed in /usr/local/texlive
outside of well-known trees (disclaimer: this is a guess; my actual
problem occured with different software).
Adding .otf to the acceptable extensions of files opened by Ghostscript
anywhere would seem like a good idea.
