Shortly after I submitted an upstream patch for SRU which fixed backlight on some devices, it got reverted on upstream again, because it broke backlight on other ones (like some here already listed): https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2152570/comments/9 (that comment has the upstream revert)
