After some more side-channel discussions with Gauthier, on d/copyright: * to simplify d/copyright management and readability, the package puts some files that are under a single license under the "Apache-2.0 AND BSD-3-Clause" stanza, which is more restrictive than needed. * utility in listing individual files in d/copyright is marginal, and requires significant effort. * Upstream CONTRIBUTING.md makes clear that the project overall is licensed under "Apache-2.0 AND BSD-3-Clause"
The proposed approach looks good to me. I just have two suggestions, which are non-blocking for an upload: * Add a Comment to d/copyright stanza, when useful to to clarify things, e.g. Files: * Copyright: Cloud Hypervisor Authors License: Apache-2.0 AND BSD-3-Clause Comment: we did this and that because of that and this` * Add a debian/lrc.config file to make lrc(1) clean or mostly clean. I am not suggesting this for the sake of making a linter happy, but to track decisions via comments and commit messages.
