Upstream identified this as commit 6d27f92c54ce ("media: uvcvideo: Fix
deadlock if uvc_status_stop is called from async_ctrl.work"), which landed
in 7.1 with Cc: stable but was not picked up for linux-7.0.y:
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=6d27f92c54ce28cfbd2a8a479a96d6f4a781b7d2

We backported that single commit onto Ubuntu 7.0.0-27-generic (out-of-tree
module build) and it fully resolves the deadlock on our hardware: repeated
asynchronous-control stress that previously hung unkillably on the first
attempt now passes cleanly (15/15 rounds), and async control readback works
again. The disable-status workaround attached earlier is superseded.

Requesting this commit be applied to the Ubuntu 7.0 kernel (it carries
Fixes: a32d9c41bdb8, which is present in 7.0).
