I completed the requested testing of the intermediate BlueZ package revisions.
Results: 5.72-0ubuntu5 -> Works 5.72-0ubuntu5.1 -> Works 5.72-0ubuntu5.2 -> Works 5.72-0ubuntu5.3 -> Works 5.72-0ubuntu5.4 -> Works For each test, I installed the matching bluez, bluez-cups and bluez- obexd packages, restarted the Bluetooth service, and tested the Echo Dot connection. After completing those tests, I reinstalled version 5.72-0ubuntu5.5 to confirm the regression once more before replying. Unexpectedly, version 5.72-0ubuntu5.5 is now also working correctly. I removed the Bluetooth pairing, paired the Echo Dot again, and it connected successfully and is functioning normally. I therefore need to correct my earlier conclusion. At this point I am no longer able to reproduce the original problem. For context, the original issue started before I made any configuration changes or troubleshooting attempts. The Echo Dot had been working normally, then suddenly stopped connecting. During the initial investigation I tried several troubleshooting steps (including reloading the Bluetooth kernel module, modifying Bluetooth configuration files, restarting services, removing and re-pairing the device, and factory resetting the Echo Dot), but none of those actions resolved the problem. Only later, during the investigation and repeated package installation/testing process, the issue disappeared. Unfortunately, I cannot determine which action actually resolved it. The original failure was consistently reproducible for several days, and the bluetoothctl output and bluetoothd logs previously attached were collected while the problem was actively occurring. However, after completing the additional testing requested here, I can no longer reproduce the issue, including with BlueZ 5.72-0ubuntu5.5. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2159829 Title: Regression in BlueZ 5.72-0ubuntu5.5 prevents A2DP connection to Amazon Echo Dot 4 on Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/2159829/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
