Public bug reported:
My kid has Raspberry Pi 5 with Ubuntu. This weekend, I've updated from
25.04 to 25.10 and 26.04. Somewhere in the way, something went wrong,
and I'm stuck with GNU/Linux 6.17.0-1018-raspi kernel, not the latest
7.0 that should be in 26.04.
piboot-try:
New boot assets in /boot/firmware/new failed. Fallen back to known good
state. Use piboot-try --reset-new to re-test boot assets. If you are able
to determine the boot failure is due to a bug, please file an issue:
ubuntu-bug flash-kernel
Also know, that it is running old HDD (not SSD) from laptop, and often
boots on the second try, with I/O errors. Don't know why, maybe just old
HDD, maybe bad chinese SATA/USB adapter, but once it boots, it runs
stable. But this makes the "dual reboot" kernel update complicated.
