This is not a bug with Ubuntu or the kernel. Major changes to the kernel wireless interface occurred between 6.8 and 6.17. Your wireless adapter could very well work without any external modules on kernel 6.17
If it doesn't, you either need to update the realtek-rtl88xxau module you're using (I'm unsure if any such update exists) or find something that works with newer kernels such as: https://github.com/lwfinger/rtw88 ** Package changed: linux (Ubuntu) => ubuntu ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2156044 Title: realtek-rtl88xxau 5.6.4.2~20230501 fails to build on Linux 6.17, builds successfully on Linux 6.8 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2156044/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
