Since the latest system/kernel update, I am experiencing significant
issues with my system’s boot time and overall performance.
Hardware Specifications:
device model: redmi book 16 2024
CPU: intel core i5-13500H
BIOS version: RMARP6B0P0606
Observed Issues:
1. Boot Latency: The boot time has drastically increased after the update,
taking approximately 1 minute and 12 seconds to reach the login screen.
2. Performance Degradation: Following the delayed boot, the system suffers from
noticeable slowness, lag, and generally degraded performance during normal
usage.
Actions Taken:
Attempted to check for firmware updates via fwupdmgr, but no updates were found
for Linux. Updating the BIOS currently requires a Windows environment.
Logs have already been collected and submitted to Canonical via the ubuntu-bug
linux tool.
Workaround: Temporarily, booting into an older kernel version from the GRUB
menu resolves both the boot delay and the performance lag, confirming that the
issue is specific to the latest update.
Any assistance or guidance on a permanent patch for this kernel-ACPI
conflict would be highly appreciated.
