It restores the full functionality of the device... and as a side note, this should never be ran on a hard drive, this absolutely will cause corrupted data... since discs are read only, this shouldn't be a problem. But yes, you can use k3b again and everything to burn another disc if you wish, but everything goes fubar again once it hits the verify stage.
