I have been running on the 6.8.0-101-generic Xubuntu 24.04 Kernel for about a week now.
I still have the hold on packages as detailed in update #10 above. With Compositor disabled, it is minimally survivable kernel. Only occasional GUI movement flashing. The Nvidia binary drivers insist on reverting to Auto / Adaptive mode. I have the thick black borders around my Applications Menu.
